There are a lot of reasons why people smoke. Also, there are a lot of substances that make them smoke. For example, a lot of people commonly drink coffee or beer with their cigarettes. It is somewhat of a ritual and if you ask smokers they will tell you that the best cigarette is one in the morning that goes together with coffee. By reducing or eliminating other things that remind you of smokes you are effectively being able to remove them from your system.
Creating a home consensus
It is normal for more people in the family to smoke. This is one of the main reasons why quitting can be so hard. No matter how hard you try there will always be someone nearby that is still smoking making it easy to relapse. If you wish to turn a new leaf you need to do it together with those who are close to you. This resolution is not only good for you in term that you won’t have smokes nearby; it is also good as several family members will be on the same path to quitting making it much easier and reachable.
Buying smaller packs
If you wish to quit gradually, one of the best ways to do it is to gradually reduce amount of smokes you have lying around your home. Do not buy bigger cartons instead, get them pack by pack. Sometimes, if you’re smoking exclusively in company, stop bringing smokes with you and lend them from others. This will reduce the amount smoked as you won’t be inconsiderate towards others.
Dissociate yourself from smokers
Common practice for smokers is to go and have a few puffs during a job break. If you stop going out with smokers, you will less likely to smoke. Instead, make sure to stay in the office or try hanging around with a different group until smoking group finishes.
Use products that help you quit smoking
There are a lot of products online which can help you quit smoking. Patches and chewing gums are popular but the best one are electronic cigarettes. Not only do they help you quit, they also help you make an easier transition. They have e-liquid so they are much better solution that cigarettes with nicotine.
Sports are one of the best ways to quit smoking. Instead of focusing on smokes, you will do something healthy in nature. Your body also cannot deal with both smokes and fatigue so you will slowly have to choose and will slowly reduce the amount of smokes you take per day.
