Imagine living during war ridden Poland in 1939, imagine being a woman during that time – or better yet – a housewife. Then imagine your home and work being destroyed by the Germans and so you decide to join the Polish underground resistance? This is what Antonina and her husband Jan Żabiński did. And thanks to them over 300 guests passed through their zoo and survived the war.
Now imagine this all being written into a book – your life story – come to life in words for others to know about. Then, one day in March of 2017 it will come to life right before your eyes on the big screen!
If you want to see this magic unfold for you, I suggest you read the book if you haven’t done so already. You’ll cry, you’ll laugh, and you’ll fall in love with these people that gave up everything so that others may live.
I personally can’t wait for March 31st, when The Zookeeper’s Wife comes out in theaters! See the sneak peek trailer below!
