The following discussion about The Stork and infertility is brought to you by a partnership between myself and The Motherhood. While I was compensated for my time, research, and briefing, all opinions and statements are 100% my own.
A Little Recap
You all know my history with infertility. In fact, I have an entire page dedicated to it. It’s because of my infertility struggles that I have actually been MIA for a little while. I know I wrote about my break down, but it definitely went a lot deeper than that. I will get into that part in the next post. I promise! Today, I’m going to talk about infertility, but a hopeful, at home solution. Let’s begin shall we?
The Stork: What Is It?
What if I told you that you can save hundreds of dollars and perform an insemination at home? Well, yes I know that you and your hubby can just do the baby dance and have it over with and done; but if there was a way for the sperm to STAY closer to your cervix and enter your uterus without doctors and probes, would you believe me? I didn’t believe it either. In my mind I was picturing a turkey baster! Calm down! It’s not a turkey baster!
This is what The Stork is:
The Stork Conception System is indicated for assisted insemination in instances where low sperm count, sperm immobility, or hostile vaginal environment has been diagnosed. The system (cervical cap in a condom-like silicone sheath) is used to collect semen into a cervical cap, and then deliver the cap to the outside of the cervix as an aid to conception. It is to be used at home following physician instructions.
To see how it works, check out the video below:
As many of you know infertility affects one in six couples. This bridge that The Stork provides is perfect for an “off cycle” or to try on your own that one last time before seeing a specialist. The Stork definitely helps, not only on a couple’s pockets but also to take away that “White Room” feeling involved with IUI’s in a doctor’s office. While The Stork was created to help with sperm direction, motility, etcetera, it also helps keep the sperm closer to the cervix longer.
Benefits of The Stork:
• Proven technique: Physician technique now available for use in the privacy of home
• Safe: FDA Authorized prescription product. Non-reusable device
• Natural: Drug-free product that requires no drugs
• Non-invasive: Requires no injections or surgery
• Easy –to-Use: Condom-like in collection, tampon-like in delivery
• Cost-effective: Compared to “next-step” treatment options
Some Real Talk
Let’s have some real talk ok ladies? When it comes down to it, I personally have been probed one too many times. If I can achieve this on my own, I’m going to give it a try. With The Stork, there have been reports of women achieving their first vaginal orgasm because of the tip of the “consepticle” that the man wears. Now that’s something that doesn’t in a doctor’s office procedure room, does it?
After you have some wild fun in the privacy of your own bedroom, your partner removes the “consepticle” and you then place it on to the applicator, which is supposed to be softer and better than a tampon applicator! You then insert it into you vagina, close to your cervix and leave it in up to 6 hours. It is not suggested to use over night!
Here’s what everything looks like:
What This Means For Me
As for me, I’m in the waiting game right now. I will speak about what happened in another post. As of right now I don’t want to see another doctor, at least for the time being. I will, however, call my doctor and tell her about The Stork. I want a prescription for this and I want to try it before we do move on to the next step. For me, this means a little glimmer of hope, both financially and emotionally.
How Can You Get Your Hands On This Kit
That’s easy! Call your doctor, ask for a prescription and visit The Stork to place your purchase! You then can choose between one kit for $79.99 or full month’s supply for $210! That is way cheaper than what my IUI cycle is expected to cost! You can also stay up to date with them on Facebook, Twitter, and Vimeo!
