I have 5 dogs, three boys, and a husband who smokes. I’m pretty sure that when you walk into my house you can smell the cigarette smoke plus the pet smells too. After all, dogs do fart. We, however, become noseblind to the smells we live with every single day.
Did you now that #Noseblind is an actual condition? It’s where you become accustomed to the odors surrounding you. A perfect example is a pet store. When you first walk in to one, the first thing you smell is all the different odors from the different animals. A few minutes later as you wander through the store you no longer smell it.
To prove this I invited some friends over for a movie night and to take the Noseblind Challenge with us!
We started with each of us taking an individual survey. Of course we kept our answers a secret from one another! I’m not going to lie though. I wanted to know very badly what my friends thought my house smelled like. In my mind I was picturing the one commercial with all the cats?
Yep, this one. I know I’m nuts, but I kept picturing a dog sofa with dogs everywhere!
After we all took our surveys I popped the popcorn and served it. We then took another survey each. We watched the movie and took another survey. During this time I used some of the Febreze products like the air effects spray and the fabric spray on the couches.
My friends concurred that Febreze actually worked and didn’t just mask the smell. In fact we all went outside for a few minutes, and when we came back in, we couldn’t even smell the popcorn smell that lingers in the air anymore!
Being an avid Febreze product user, I knew that it wouldn’t let me down. Now, I’m no longer worried about odd smells permeating through my home. I don’t have to worry about guests thinking my house stinks. I can stay confident!
There is a wonderful array of Febreze products to choose from for every room in your home! You never have to double guess your sniffer ever again.
What are some odors that you have gone #noseblind to?
