In a couple of weeks college kids everywhere – including yours – will be heading to Spring Break. Maybe even you will take this week and go off on a well-deserved retreat. Some will be going to the beach, some will fly overseas, some will go camping, and some will go on a road trip. If you or someone you love will be going on a road trip, then this article on Packing for your Spring Break Road Trip is for you!
Of course, before any trip of any kind, I always take my car in to get a good once over by the Waldorf Ford Dealership. I do this because I want to make sure my vehicle is in tip-top shape before hitting the road. As you can imagine, I’m not going to be discussing what to pack in your suitcase, instead I’m going to tell you what to pack in your vehicle. So here it goes!
Basic Road Kit
I always keep a basic kit in my trunk and a First-Aid kit in my glove compartment just in case. I also have roadside assistance attached with my insurance, or you can opt for services like AAA.
I love having Bluetooth™ in my car and Your smartphone can help in many ways! It can help you navigate to where you need to go (and find fun places to stop). It can help you get help if you need it. You can also keep in touch with your loved ones this way. Just don’t forget your charger! I always have a car charger and one for the hotel.
Spare Cash/ Emergency Credit Card
Just like anything could happen with your car, you can’t imagine how much it could cost to fix it. Always make sure you have money somewhere just in case.
I don’t like to stop too often when headed somewhere so I always tend to pack snacks. Snacks and bottles of water help me keep from stopping every 1-2 hours and stretches us to 3.
A spill happens, especially with bottled water on board. Make sure you have paper towels or napkins within easy reach.
This one is very important to me. I can’t do the full drive by myself. I’ve done it before, don’t get me wrong but I prefer to have someone with me who can drive just in case. I think it’s just a comfort thing for me.
