Spring is almost here and summer is coming soon. That means it’s road trip season. So go pick up that new car from your local dealership and hit the road! It’s that time of year when you pack your spouse and family in your car and head out to the amusement parks, national parks, and landmarks across the country. Family road trips are a great way to spend quality time with everyone you may not get to see very often during your busy work week. Road trips can also be an amazing way to spend some alone time with your significant other and nothing makes these trips better than cruising in the right car.
These are the kinds of trips made for sporty two-seaters, and couples in love. Make sure you have your playlists ready for these gorgeous slices of the USA, or if you’re feeling adventurous have people suggest songs via social media. Either way, you’ll probably be too busy soaking in the beautiful scenery to worry about it. Make sure you have your camera ready because these romantic trips are more about the journey than the destination.
Pacific Coast Highway, California
Also known as California State Route 1, the Pacific Coast Highway is an amazing exercise in drama. Driving along this scenic highway you’ll see jagged mountains that disappear into the wild surf. Wind-sculpted outcrops lush with trees, and blue-green waves that seem too good to be real. If you’re a real nature buff, you can camp at Big Sur, if you’re into fine dining you can find that in Carmel. You can even take a detour into Napa Valley if wine is your thing. Take a convertible if you can.
US Route 1 – The East Coast.
US 1 is a huge highway that runs from South Florida up to the Canadian border. While it’s all beautiful, what we’re looking at here is the stretch that runs through New England. If you start in Connecticut, US 1 serves most of the major cities as a side highway, but once you get past I-95 in Rhode Island, Route 1 becomes what everyone thinks of when they think of New England. You’ll want good sporty handling to take you through the twists and turns. Make sure you factor frequent stops for Clam Chowder and Lobster rolls into your travel time
The Million Dollar Highway – New Mexico and Colorado
This trip literally has something for everyone. You start out in the desert checking out the UFO museum in Roswell, from there you head up to Santa Fe and soak in all the historic culture and green chile enchiladas you can handle. After a quick stop in Albuquerque, you finish heading north into the San Juan mountains and all the beauty Colorado Hill country has to offer. You’ll want some good horsepower here. New Mexico has some pretty liberal speed limits, so take advantage.
These road trips are sure to be a hit with any couple that loves the road and all the new experiences it brings. Just make sure to bring a charger so you can take all the pictures you want and make the memories last a lifetime.
