I love spending time with my family. As a matter of fact, I love spending time with them outside of the house, especially on beautiful days. Sure we can pop in a movie, make some popcorn and call it a night, but some good old educational fun is great too.
Living where we do, right down the road from Pittsburgh, PA, there’s tons of activities. Tons of family outings we can attend, make memories, and learn from. These happen more often anymore, thanks to Chick-Fil-A. As a matter of fact just a couple of weeks ago we attended Family Night at the Pittsburgh Zoo.
How cute do they look? Most times, I don’t tell them where we’re going. My mom used to surprise us with fun activities all the time, and I’ve kind of kept up the tradition. The while hour it took from their school to the Zoo, they had no idea where we were going. At one point my eldest even said, “Where are we going to the middle of the Dessert?!” I couldn’t help but laugh, because well, we were going to see some African Sahara animals!
It was a truly amazing experience, and we all had a great time! In fact we were greeted with smiling faces, cows, and a polar bear! We got to see lions, giraffes, rhinos, elephants, and so much more.
The kids loved climbing the African Termite Hill replicas!
I love being part of a community that takes their patrons and families seriously. I think that it goes beyond what anyone’s beliefs are, as long as family is the central point of it all. To me, Chick-fil-A got it right. They know and understand that families come first. They understand that no matter what you’re eating, or where you’re going it should be done together as a family. I mean dead center in the middle of their site, it says, “Kids and Family.” Where else do you see that?
The kids loved being able to go somewhere after school, have fun, unwind, but still stay inside their learning environment. Fun can be educational, and there is nothing wrong with that.
The night ended with a family party, including dancing, prizes, prize wheels, ice cream! They really know how to rile your kids up before sending them home! It was a blast though and the boys enjoyed themselves out on the dancefloor. I can’t provide pictures, because they’re just too blurry! I wish I could have taken better pictures of them dancing! They were having so much fun! But the prize table looked like this.
Whenever I know it’s time for a family outing my first instinct is to check out what Chick-fil-A has in store during the month, and you can too. Just go to chickfila.com and check out their In Your Community tab. There’s bound to be something for everyone in your family.
So get out of the mundane, give the cows a break, eat more chikn, and get your family out of the house for a fun family night together!
Just a word to the wise, be careful when you opt for a family photo, the kids might be so much into everything else around them but the camera! You’d end up looking like this! (Brittney thanks for trying!)
