How Do You Market Yourself?
As a blogger there are many things that goes into your own marketing campaign. Let’s face it we don’t make any money if we don’t advertise our blogs. This can be done in various ways, for example, you can sign up to be an affiliate for various companies. That still doesn’t guarantee that you will make money. If you do make money by affiliate links, then that’s awesome and Congratulations…but how are you promoting you self, your business, your blog?
When you go to a conference, or a press release, or just happen to be talking with the own of a local business, how do you present yourself? I present myself with business cards. I used to use the regular run of the mill kind, and most often than not, I used to print my own. While sometimes they would look good, other times, the colors were off, or the design was just way too plain.
I like beautiful, bright colors, and ones that thoroughly match the theme of my blog. Let’s talk about this in detail.
Do Business Cards Really Work
Business cards are the key to your success. I bet you’re saying, “But people will only put them away and/or discard them.” In some cases, that’s true. Some people don’t really care much for business card and are not in the market to connect with others. However, in the blogging world, it’s different. Brands and other bloggers ARE looking to connect. Bloggers come together for the sole purpose of making a Brand’s reputation even bigger by REAL people; real people like you and me.
Bloggers like, ok LOVE to connect with other bloggers, because it makes our learning experience that much better. We’re always on the look out for new mentors. I wouldn’t be where I am now, if it weren’t for other, bigger bloggers helping me along the way. So yes, business cards are important.
Where To Go For Business Cards
There are many, and I mean many business card templates, designs, and printers out there. They can really make deciding hard. I had the design part done, I love designing my own business cards. However because of that, mine never printed right. When Signazon asked me to choose any product on their site, I just had to choose the business cards.
I was running low, I had a new design for my blog, and well, I went straight to their business card section. All of their products are customizable, or you can upload your own design, like I did.
Here is the end result of my business cards:
I ordered the two-sided business cards with the UV Gloss Finishing. I had to email customer service so that they could add the back design onto the card. They were quick and friendly. Not to mention that the Rep I worked with was also phenomenal. She sent me the proofs, and we noticed that some of the writing wasn’t showing up dark enough. No problem, I quickly edited them and within 5 days I had my business cards!
They looked better in person than on the screen. Now I also want to mention that Signazon doesn’t ONLY offer business cards, oh no! They have an entire printing service, from car door magnets to wedding banners, invitations to window graphics. Their portfolio is astounding! I also love, as I already mentioned, that everything is customizable.
Magnets And Banners?
I’m sure that most of you have been to a blogging conference, and some of you have even spoken at a blogging conference. I also know that many bloggers also participate in direct sales to make some extra money. Banners are an awesome addition and Car Magnets, is a nice way to promote your business with out using a bull horn. You could use a bull horn if you want to do though, I won’t judge!
What’s the Cost?
The business cards start at $19.99 for 100 cards. This includes your customizable design or own own design and a matte finish. Each addition can run from an extra $7.99-$10.00. In my humble opinion, it’s worth it and inexpensive. (Or I wouldn’t be presenting them to you!)
The car magnets begin at $22.87. And are absolutely cool! I was actually having a hard time deciding. Do I want to drive around with “Adventures of the Mommy Homemaker” or do I just want to give out business cards? I decided on the business cards.
Have I Convinced You?
Have I? Did I convince you that buying business cards is an inexpensive way to effectively market yourself? I hope so!
