An Easy Way to Keep Your Children Busy

Children aged two to five are the ones who are the most difficult to control. They are too active and will try to do whatever crosses their minds. For us mothers, we can’t just let them out of our sights because they might do something ridiculous. Children might break our precious porcelains, stain expensive carpets, or worse, put themselves in danger. But of course, a typical mother needs to get the household chores done and it’s hard to juggle the task of looking after your children, washing the dishes, gardening, doing the laundry, and cooking dinner. So how can you keep your children in their seats? Two to five years old are interested in everything around them and are pretty curious on how things work. So, what I did, is I made my 5-year old daughter and 3-year old son watch cartoons, movies, and TV shows. And so far, I think I have them under my spell.

I bought the best cartoon DVDs at Ohio Valley Mall, and I made sure to pick the ones that match their age. I heard that musicals are good for children, so I bought a Les Miserables CD. The musical is great and I think the songs are also perfect for toddlers. Plus, the children would somehow learn singing ala-opera. When the discs started playing, that’s the time when our home became a “peaceful” place. I spotlessly finished the chores and even had the time to treat myself by playing games at FoxyBingo.com. But most of all, I got to spend some time to bond with my children.

This seems to be the most effective way of keeping my children safe while minimizing the mess they usually create. The only hard part about this is choosing a show that is suitable for them. Thanks to organizations like the Common Sense Media, I can assure my children only see what is right for them.

  5. It is so hard to keep them busy, but I’ve found they can be creative on their own with a little encouragement. I have 3 under 7, but for awhile I had 3 under 5 and they come up with things I would never think of; making puppet shows (they have no puppets lol) and I’d always remind them that I’m going to come see their show and they would get serious about making it really good, (always the same every time hehehe).

  9. Keeping children entertained is so hard sometimes! My son is a huge fan of mixing bowls and spoons. Also, give him a backpack to put his toys in & he’s busy for hours on end putting them in & taking them out!

How’s this for a creative and free way to entertain kids? We download free audiobooks for them. They’re especially great during road trips. There’s lots of great sites to get them, but this one seems to be their favorite. http://www.twirlygirlshop.com/moral-stories-for-kids
