Our pets are more than just pets, they’re family. Just like any other family member we want to make sure they are as safe and comfortable in your car as possible. From pet hair, to muddy paws, to possible accidents traveling with your four-legged friends can be a handful. Here are ten way you can take some of the headache out of traveling with your pets and arrive safely.
An In Car Tether
This simple yet functional device prevents your pup from jumping into the front seat or falling into the floor during a quick stop. It’s a harness for your doggo to wear along with a strap that runs from seatbelt to seat belt. They have the run of the back seat but won’t go anywhere they’re not supposed to be
Seat Covers
Pet hair and muddy paw prints are almost impossible to get out of your upholstery completely. Front and rear seat covers keep your car clean and let you have all the fun you want with your pet
Floor Matts
They’re available in all shapes and sizes. Some floor matts can double as cargo carriers for pet toys and even groceries when your pet isn’t traveling with you.
Squeegee
You can get pet hair out of your car’s upholstery easily by running a squeegee over your seats and picking out the resulting clumps of hair. If you skimp on the seat covers this is a must.
Glare Guards
These retractable window covers are the same ones you use to keep the sun out of your child’s face on a sunny day. Consider a pair of these for the back seats of your car to keep the sun off of Fido’s face too.
Pet Insurance
Sometimes your pet will be along for the ride when accidents happen. There are many pet-friendly insurance companies out there that will cover your pets’ injuries should the worst happen. Check with your insurer and see if they are one of them.
Dog Ramp
If your dog is older, or on the short side they might have trouble getting up and down from a taller vehicle. These ramps will take the stress off of their joints and legs
Baking Soda
Your pet might have an accident while traveling. Even the best boy or girl can have an accident and soaking the urine or vomit up with a natural ingredient like baking soda makes it easier to clean and is safer for your pet
Ozium
You can get rid of pet odors fast with this fast acting and bacteria eliminating spray.
These are just a few suggestions to keep your outings with your four-legged family as pleasant and safe as possible.
