The City of Brotherly Love is one of America’s oldest cities. Philadelphia is teeming with history, and actually served as America’s first capital before Washington D.C. Blue Mountain Ski Area
Blue Mountain is a mecca for Skiers and Snowboarders on the east coast. Containing Pennsylvania’s highest vertical pead at 1082 feet, there are 39 trails made for all abilities and ages and a variety of terrains. There’s also a fun new feature called the Big Air Bag, a large air-filled cushion for those who want a safe landing while doing crazy aerial stunts.
The roller coasters may be closed for the winter months, but when they shut down, Hershey Park transforms itself into a winter wonderland. There are 30 rides still open in the park (weather permitting), holiday lights displays all over the park, hot chocolate, s’mores, and a daily breakfast with Santa. This one is definitely one for the whole family.
Trains played an important part in the building of our nation in its early days, and Railroads have often been associated with the holiday season. If you’re a lover of railroads, then the Strasburg Railroad is just a short drive from Philadelphia in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. The National Railroad Museum hosts the countries oldest short line railroad and ever holiday season it transforms into Santa’s Paradise Express. Santa Visits all of the riders during the trip and there’s tons of nearby shopping and Amish tours, so there’s something for every taste.
