It’s Infertility Awareness Week and I decided to ramp up this old post about Fertility Friendly Aphrodisiacs. If you’ve been on the TTC journey for a while, you know how NOT sexy it can be. We must truly push ourselves to be in the mood to actually enjoy the moment. Sex, while TTC’ing can begin to feel monotonous, boring, routine. It shouldn’t be that way. We are, after all, trying to conceive a baby with the person we love.
And so dear readers and fellow TTC’ers, because we wanted to spice things up a bit, I went on a research marathon! Yes, I really did. I wanted to know, how I could still stay healthy, eat right, and still have fun with my husband while going through the monthly battle of infertility. It wasn’t an easy task, I could have said “Oysters!” and left it at that but we all know that for women with PCOS who are insulin resistant (because not all are) eating too much shellfish is a big no-no! Oysters are listed, but please remember to eat shellfish in moderation.
After my research was completed, I narrowed it down to these twenty-five foods. They are healthy, natural and can easily be found anywhere you shop. Some are considered aphrodisiacs for obvious reasons, and others were a complete surprise to me, as I’m sure they’ll be to you too. Food is amazing, it gives us energy, nourishment, memories, and new experiences. It’s no wonder that they can also stimulate our libido for that special moment. Don’t let injection night dull it, plan a dinner date with your partner, make it fun, have a glass of red wine (it’s also an aphrodisiac!) and let loose a little.
